An Indian woman has given birth to baby girl with four eyes and two faces, just two years after the world was captivated by the story of Lakshmi Tatma, the "twin" girl born with four arms and four legs. The four-day old baby girl, born to Vinod Singh and his partner Sushma, is already being hailed as a reincarnation of the Indian God Ganesha.Sushma gave birth to the 'miracle' child in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, 50 kilometres north east of New Delhi.
As news of her birth spread through the secluded rural village where her family reside, local residents began singing and dancing and asking for her blessings. According to the doctor at the hospital, the baby girl and her mother are both in good health. The excitement over the birth recalls the intense media interest in the operation to remove Lakshmi Tatma's headless, undeveloped "twin", joined to her body at the pelvis, in a 40 hour operation last year. Named after the Hindu goddess of wealth, who also has four arms, Lakshmi was believed to have been "sent from God" when she was born to a poor rural family in the northern state of Bihar. Last month the Daily Telegraph reported how Lakshmi had recovered from major surgery and taken her first steps with the aid of a baby-walker.
